Some residents of Omuodukwu Igwuruta in Ikwerre local government area of Rivers state have decried the deplorable condition of roads in the area.
The people lamented that the bad state of the road have crippled their business activities.
One of them, a tailor, Mr Moses Chukwuma while speaking with our Correspondent ,said customers are no longer patronizing his business as a result of the bad road.
"The road is affecting us ,here is where people normally pass to their work.Because of the road we have no customers, there are empty shops and nobody is renting cos of the road."
Mr Chukwuma appealed to the Rivers State government to fix the road to ameliorate the sufferings of the people.
Also, two residents in the area ,Mrs Mercy Eboh and Mrs Chimelum Peter lamented that their houses are always flooded when it rains due to lack of drainages.
"We want government to come do dis road for us,see dis road from beginning to the end too bad,our children dey fall inside Potu potu, customers no dey gree put leg come buy something,we dey suffer."
The women enjoined Governor Nyesom Wike to help construct the road to attract development to the area.
