Andoni Council Boss Donate Cars To Legislators

 Chairman of Andoni local government area Mr Erastus Awortu has presented official cars to his vice and the eleven councillors that make up the legislative Assembly as part of efforts to ease their movement and improve workability .



The official vehicles which comprised a Venza SUV for the Vice Chairman and eleven Toyota Corolla for the Councillors were presented at the council headquarters in Ngo.

 Speaker  Rivers State House of Assembly Mr Ikuinyi-Owaji Ibani during  the presentation expressed sense of satisfaction and fulfilment with the performance of the Council chairman in  just sixty three days in office. 

The Speaker asserted that the Erastus Awortu's administration is a new political agenda and a new leadership that is in touch with the current reality in Andoni. 

On his part, Head of Service Rivers State, Mr Rufus Godwin described the gesture as historic since the creation of Andoni Local Government Area 30years ago. 

Mr. Godwin said the move is a gigantic leap to a new era of good governance and economic prosperity in Andoni . 

In his remarks , the Andoni Council Chairman Mr Erastus Awortu said the move was borne out of the need to enhance the efficiency of the elected public office holders.

e is a fulfilment of his promise to provide essential work tools for the Vice Chairman and Councillors considering the exigencies of their office. 

Mr Awortu also urged the Councillors to put the vehicles into proper use and ensure that the purpose for which they are meant for is not defeated. 

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, the Leader of the Andoni Legislative Assembly, Sheila Jacob commended the Council Chairman for satisfying their needs with a view to enhancing their productivity as Councillors.

Rivers State Government Targets Reduction In Gender Based Violence
