FRSC Begins Clampdown On Motorists With Invalid Number plates

 The Federal Road Safety Corps Rivers State command says it has began the clampdown on motorists who use invalid, unregistered vehicles number plates and old Government number plates.

 
Rivers State sector commander Salisu Galadunci who stated this in an interview with our corresp

ondent in Port Harcourt said a special patrol team has been deployed to impound such vehicles.

The sector commander maintained that no one has the right to use government number plates or colour except the Federal, state and local governments.

" You can see nobody can be giving number plate carrying government colours in any case it is not allowed they are not registered ,they are fake they are getting it through the back  door.
There are others, their number plate you see them using their names which they have not follow due process if anyone wants to use his name you pay extra money it will follow the normal legal process before it is produce.
Those numbers plate are the ones we are waging war against.
Our men are on the search for those plates we have put our search light, we have organize special patrol in conjunction with armed security personnels ,we have set up mobile court
for it ,anyone arrested will be prosecuted.
If you are caught you will pay a fine of 20000 naira."

He said some of the numbers bear inscriptions such as Peace Ambassador ,ble Ambassador,  Odyp-01-SP4, Leads  025.  Cyms-136.  Nup-02HQ Nyon SE397.  Nyon 01SW8.  NAUS  - 0049.  NANS  etc .

Mr Galadunci  advised residents of the state to follow due process in registering their vehicles rather than going through the back door.

"Everywhere in the world registration of vehicle is a legal document that you have to go through the right channel to register, when a vehicle  is register the information are uploaded in our national vehicle information system database Incase of theft  or any other security reason that vehicle can be track , the owner of the vehicle can be trace ".

He revealed that it is an offence to drive  any unregistered vehicle as those that do so deprive the state of collecting revenue.

Bille People Appeal To Governor Fubara To Prevail On Alhaji Asari Dokubo To Stop Evasion Of Territory

Rivers State Government Targets Reduction In Gender Based Violence
