Ahead of the nation's 61st independence, the Rivers State Government says all preparation is in top gear to ensure a successful celebration.
Secretary to the state government Dr. Tammy Danagogo who briefed journalists after the inspection of shark stadium PortHarcourt venue for the event explained that COVID 19 protocols will be strictly observed.
Dr. Danagogo who was accompanied by top government officials alongside security agents noted that schools will not be included in activities of the day in order to reduce and control crowd.
The secretary said the activities of the celebration had commenced with jumat prayer and a church service to mark the day.
He stressed that Governor Barrister Nyesom Wike is working hard to ensure that people of the state enjoy dividends of democracy.
Dr.Danagogo urged Nigerians to join hand in making the country a better place.
