Rivers NUJ Rejects Imposition Of CTC As Touts Invade Press Center


 The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ Rivers State Council has distanced  itself from the illegal constituted caretaker committee members by the embattled National president of the union Chris Iziguzo .


Chairman Nigeria Union of Journalists Rivers State Council Stanley Job in an interview with our Correspondent said the illegal team were resisted by journalists in the state when they came to the State Press Center to gather for their illegality.

Mr Job enjoined the public to disregard any information making the round that caretaker committee members have been inaugurated.

The NUJ chairman revealed that some NUJ members brought touts to take over the press center.

Also speaking, secretary of the union Mr Ike Wigodo said the National Secretariat should fix a date for election as the council is ready for the exercise.

The NUJ secretary wondered why journalists that always criticize politicians are the ones carrying out illegality.

Mr Wigodo advised journalists in the state to stay calm and go about their normal business as the association is not known for crisis.

He added that the Stanley Job Led executive still remain in office pending the election.

Our Correspondent who was at the press center in Port Harcourt reports that the  center was invaded by touts but Police officers chased them away and took over the premises.

Missing Person: Rivers State Police Command declares Miss Joy Woke Wiro

A  statement by the Spokesperson for the Rivers state Police command,SP Grace Iringe-Koko disclosed that she is 17 year old,a native of Ibaa in Emohua Local Government Area of the State,fair in complexion and about 5ft tall, speaks English and Ikwerre languages. Hoodlums Kidnap Students Of Rivers State University

Confirming the incident, Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko said today 2nd December 2025, a group of suspected cultists, numbering about five, attacked an isolated area in Rumuche/Rumuohia Community. The hoodlums shot and abducted five persons to an unknown destination.
