Woman Kills Husband In Etche Community

 



A 51 year old woman Mrs Gladys Napoleon from Chokocho in Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State has been arrested by the police for allegedly killing her husband Mr Napoleon Amadi.

While parading the suspect at the state Criminal Investigation Department,SCID; in PortHarcourt , the Police Public Relations Officer Mr Nnamdi Omoni told Newsmen that Mrs Napoleon who admitted to have murdered her husband with a matchet was arrested on the 8th of October.

The Police Image Maker said  preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect after using the matchet on the husband's head washed away the blood stain on it .



Mr Omoni explained that the suspect, Mrs Napoleon will be charged to court after proper investigation on the matter.

The Police spokesman advised members of the public especially families to use alternative means of resolving conflicts rather than resort to violence.


Speaking to Newsmen, the suspect Mrs Napoleon said her action was a self defense  as the victim wanted to kill her with the matchet after a little argument between them.



The suspect said she raised an alarm during the argument that led to the unfortunate incident but that no one responded.

Mrs Napoleon also told Newsmen that the husband had earlier threatened to kill her and her two children for ritual purposes.

The suspect, mother of two females said they were married for over 35 years with six children but lost four remaining just the two .

she said she had complained earlier to the husband's family on maltreatment by the husband but to no avail .

The suspect added that before the husband died, he was rushed to two hospitals in Igwuruta with the help of his husband's brothers and some police men on duty at the check point.

Bille People Appeal To Governor Fubara To Prevail On Alhaji Asari Dokubo To Stop Evasion Of Territory
