Court Remands Two Students Over Defilement Of 14 Year Old Female Student

 




A Magistrate Court sitting in Port Harcourt has remanded fourteen year old male Students of Okporo Community Secondary school in Obio-Akpor local govt area for defiling a female student also 14 years inside the school premises on 27th Oct 2021.

The male Students,  Chukwudi Daniel popularly known as Scorpion and Confidence Gbarabe also known as Pipeline were charged for conspiracy and unlawful sexual abuse, an offence punishable under sections 516A and 221 of the criminal code, Cap 37, VOL 2 Laws of Rivers State of Nigeria 1999.

The two suspects pleaded not guilty to the charges when read to them.

Counsel representing the suspects, Chinedu Ndah prayed the court to grant his clients bail.

The Presiding Magistrate, Chief Magistrate Rita Oguguo, 
 remanded the two students in Port Harcourt Remand Home and adjourned the case to 7th December, 2021, for ruling on bail application and hearing.

In an interview with our Correspondent , Counsel holding brief for the Compliant on behalf of FIDA, Emi George said FIDA was involved in the matter and had  followed up till it was brought to court.

The counsel stated that they will ensure justice is served in the matter.

A  statement by the Spokesperson for the Rivers state Police command,SP Grace Iringe-Koko disclosed that she is 17 year old,a native of Ibaa in Emohua Local Government Area of the State,fair in complexion and about 5ft tall, speaks English and Ikwerre languages.
