Rivers State Government have assured of the completion of the Port- Harcourt Water Supply and Sanitation Project before 2023.
The State Commissioner for Water Resources and Rural Development, Dr Tamunosisi Gogo Jaja who gave the assurance after inspecting the ongoing construction work at Rumuola, Diobu, Moscow road and Borokiri pumping stations in Port- Harcourt, said Governor Wike conceived the idea having the people in mind.
Dr Jaja however lamented on the slow pace of the work at Rumuola pumping project site, urging the constructors to speed up work and called for the employment of Rivers youth.
On his part, the Managing Director of the Port Harcourt Water Supply and Sanitation Project, Chief Ibiabia Walter said, he is hopefully that the constructors will deliver the project on schedule.
The PH Water Project when completed is expected to provide quality water supply for residents of Port Harcourt City and Obio/Akpor Local Government Areas of the State.
The Commissioner was accompanied on the inspection by his Permanent Secretary, Mr Miabiye Kalio, MD, Port- Harcourt Water Supply and Sanitation Project, Chief Ibiabia Walter, General Manger, RUWASSA, Mr Napoleon Adah and his RSSTOWA counterpart, Chief Ephraim Nwankwo and heads of Department in his Ministry.
