Police Ban Sirens, Revolving Lights,Spy And Covered Plate Numbers In Rivers

 



Rivers State Police Command says it has observed that criminals and other unauthorized persons are using Sirens, revolving lights,spy and covered plate numbers to commit crimes and other atrocities in the State.

Police Public Relations Officer Mr Nnamdi Omoni in a release stated in view of the disturbing developments and sequel to the earlier Directive of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Alkali  Usman on the abuse and indiscriminate use of  Sirens, revolving lights,spy and covered plate numbers without appropriate approvals, the Commissioner of Police, Rivers State Police Command has banned the use of these facilities in the State.


According to the statement the commissioner of police Mr Eboka Friday has set up Taskforce to ensure full compliance.
 
The statement enjoined the public and those with the facilities to dismantle them, within one week or face the law.

Mr .Friday appealed to residents of the State, particularly Banks, Companies, Private Individuals and Security Personnel except those on Covert Operations to show understanding by complying with the above Directive and immediately remove the unauthorized and prohibited facilities or face Prosecution.

He added that the taskforce headed by the Commander Operation Sting,  Jephthah Nengi has been given the marching order to enforce compliance.

Missing Person: Rivers State Police Command declares Miss Joy Woke Wiro

A  statement by the Spokesperson for the Rivers state Police command,SP Grace Iringe-Koko disclosed that she is 17 year old,a native of Ibaa in Emohua Local Government Area of the State,fair in complexion and about 5ft tall, speaks English and Ikwerre languages. SP Koko said the missing girl left home on Monday, September 8th,2025. All efforts made to trace her whereabout proved abortive.
