Andoni Carnival The Best In Recent Times ...As Council Chairman Seeks Support For Development


 








It was a moment of joy and celebration for the people of Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers State who gathered in their numbers to celebrate the return of peace to the area.

The people who dressed in their royal cultural attires also danced to the various music tunes  that filled the atmosphere at the Andoni carnival held in Ngo headquarters of the local Government.

Chairman Andoni Local Government Area Mr. Erastus Awortu described the event as a dream come true considering the years the people were deprived of gathering together as a result of insecurity.


Mr. Awortu who could not hide his joy lauded efforts of everyone including the traditional rulers who contributed to the peace initiative.

He also solicited for the support of well meaning Nigerians in developing the area.

Earlier, Federal Law Maker representing Andoni Opobo Nkoro Federal Constituency Mr. Awaji-Inombek Abiante said over the years the people had been denied development which as a law maker he desires.

Mr. Abiante explained that he is working assiduously to ensure that the people enjoy dividends of democracy.

He revealed that he has gotten approval for the building of a Police Area command for the constituency and the establishment of an out station for the Nigeria Institute of Oceanography and Marine Research.

The event also witnessed performance by various artists as fun seekers were entertained.

Bille People Appeal To Governor Fubara To Prevail On Alhaji Asari Dokubo To Stop Evasion Of Territory

Pastor Dehumanizing Children In Rivers State Cools Off In Police Net

  By: Awajis Josiah-Chijindu  The Rivers State Police Command has arrested pastor Ifediorah Onyeibor Joseph, aged 41,following a video showing the dehumanizing of minors circulating on social media. According to a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the Command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, Preliminary investigations revealed that Pastor Joseph allegedly organized a 3-day program for children in his Church, purportedly for "spiritual cleaning," claiming to have been inspired by the Holy Spirit.
