Next Year Election: NLC Urge Workers To Vote In Leaders With Their Interest

 





The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC; says the issues of Nigeria workers welfare is paramount.

 

Chairperson of NLC Rivers State Chapter, Mrs. Beatrice Itubo made this known when she led members of the chapter on a visit to the Nigeria Union of Journalists in Port Harcourt.

 

Mrs. Itubo explained that the aim of the visit was to sensitized members of the union on the need to be on the same page on the agitations of better welfare packages for workers in the state.


The state labour leader while enjoining members of the union to sensitized others on the need to speak with one voice about the welfare of workers in the state said if at the end of the day the government did not give attention to workers ,they will be left with no option than to embark on strike to press forward their demands .

 

She expressed worry that for over eight years no worker in the state had been promoted, no salary increments and pensioners had not been paid their entitlement.

 


Mrs. Itubo speaking on the forthcoming election in the country urged workers to get their PVC to vote in credible leaders who will have interest of workers at heart.


She stated that gone at the days when politicians will take Nigeria workers for guarantee.



Our Correspondent who was at the extra ordinary congress of the union report that members of the council took turn in asking questions that pertained to workers welfare and union issues.

Missing Person: Rivers State Police Command declares Miss Joy Woke Wiro

A  statement by the Spokesperson for the Rivers state Police command,SP Grace Iringe-Koko disclosed that she is 17 year old,a native of Ibaa in Emohua Local Government Area of the State,fair in complexion and about 5ft tall, speaks English and Ikwerre languages. SP Koko said the missing girl left home on Monday, September 8th,2025. All efforts made to trace her whereabout proved abortive.
