Lady arrested for injuring her step sister in port Harcourt

 



A Local Vigilante Group ,Abuloma Security Network in PortHarcourt City Local Government Area of Rivers State has arrested a young lady Gold George-Tete, for inflicting grievous injury on her thirteen year old step sister with hot pressing iron,  alleging she stole one thousand naira from her mother's inlaw purse.

 Chairman Abuloma Security Network, Comrade Lawrence Pina,in an interview with our Correspondent narrated that the victim Obomate  Okorosa came to report the matter  that her Elder sister burnt her lap with hot pressing iron, at their residence 16 Olumodel Elijah street, Abuloma.

Comrade Pina said the Vigilante Group were able to arrest the lady at her working place in collaboration with FIDA Rivers State and handed her over to the Police.

He urged FIDA to ensure the matter is properly treated so the little girl who is an orphan will get justice.


Narrating her ordeal , the victim Obomate Okorosa, who is an orphan, living with the step Elder sister, said on Sunday 13th of  this month , she was accused of stealing one thousand naira from her Elder sister mother's inlaw purse, which she denied knowledge of and her Elder sister threatened to burn her with hot pressing iron if she did not bring out the money.

 According to her, on Monday night 14th March, at about 2am while sleeping her step Elder sister inflicted the injury on her with hot pressing iron .

The victim narrated that on Thursday 17th March she was taking to church for deliverance, as she was accused of being possessed.

On her part, the suspect said she inflicted the injury on her younger sister to teach her a lesson that will make her to stop stealing.

She explained that it was not the first time the victim stole, adding that she had previously stolen one thousand naira from their pastor's wife which she  warned her against repeating such act.

As of the time of filing this report, FIDA Rivers State said the the little girl will no longer be in the custody of her Elder sister, in order to avert further abuse.
