EASTER: Rivers NAWOJ Felicitates with Christians ...Decries Spate of Domestic Violence

 


The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists ,NAWOJ;Rivers State  has felicitated with Christians especially those in  the state on the occasion of this year's Easter celebration. 



It also advised all to show love to one another especially the less privileged and the  down trodden in the society bearing in mind that Easter is a pure demonstration of God's unfailing love to humanity.

"Showing love to one another  means appreciating the  fact that God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son to save humanity "

NAWOJ Chairperson Susan Serekara-Nwikhana in a statement enjoined journalists not to be deterred .

She   regretted  the high cost of living in a society where Journalists are not well paid despite the role they play and called for a better renumeration for media workers.

"May you receive all that you desire for and dream for and may the power of  resurrection  manifest  in every area of your lives ".



NAWOJ  also decries the spate of Domestic Violence that has sent so many women to their early graves regretting that the society has lost so many  stars  like Osinachi Nwachukwu due to domestic violence and enjoined women to be mindful of abusive relationships. 

"In this most beautiful season, you will find a lot of reasons to be happy and may God shower your lives with unlimited blessings".

She also wished  all NAWOJ partners and journalists in the state a wonderful Easter celebration praying God to shower their lives with  unlimited blessings while looking forward to having a more robust working relationship with them.

Bille People Appeal To Governor Fubara To Prevail On Alhaji Asari Dokubo To Stop Evasion Of Territory

Rivers State Government Targets Reduction In Gender Based Violence

  By: Martha Igbiks  The Rivers State government has reaffirmed its dedication to tackling gender-based violence (GBV), aimed at reduce its prevalence between 5-10% . The State Commissioner for Social Welfare and Rehabilitation, Honourable Ilamu Arugu, made this commitment during a meeting with the Heads of the subcommittee on GBV prevention in the State.
