Speaking on the security situation in Rivers State, some residents of Port Harcourt have attributed the relatively peace enjoined in the state as a result of the local vigilante groups in various local government areas.

One of them, Mr. Uche John while commending the State Governor, Nyesom Wike for supporting the security agencies with logistics to carry out their function effectively urged government to also support the activities of vigilante groups to make the state safer especially at the rural areas.

Mr Uche who further explained that one of the problems plaguing residents is lack of quick response to emergency situations by security agencies appealed for prompt response whenever the emergency lines are called.

Another resident, Mr David Umoh advocated the need for inter-agency co-operation to rid the State of criminal element.

Meanwhile, Commissioner of Police Rivers State CP Eboka Friday has ordered massive deployment of Personnel across the state to provide adequate security before, during and after the 2022 Easter celebration to ensure protection of all residents in the state.
