Children's Day: Obolo Women Tasks Stakeholders To Invest In Children For Better Society ........ Distribute Study Materials To Students
Stakeholders from Andoni extraction have been called upon to support children from the Area to achieve their goals and aspirations.
President Obolo Women Converge Dr. Rhoda Nwalozie made the appealed when the Association visited Schools in the Local Government Area to distribute school materials .
Dr. Nwalozie also admonished the children to take their studies serious and avoid habits that could destroyed their future.
Some of the children, Awajiteleyem Isaiah and Ejit Peters while lauding efforts of the group for identifying with them on the occasion of the Children's Day celebration, said they will study hard to secure a better future for themselves and contribute their quota to make the society a better place.
Over fifteen schools in the Area were visited by the association and study materials like stationeries,books and toiletries were donated.
Schools visited includes: Government Secondary School Ngo, Doni Comprehensive Secondary School Unyengala, Community Secondary School Agwut Obolo, Government Secondary School Asarama, Community Secondary School Unyeada, Community Secondary School Inyongoron, Community Secondary School Ikuru Town, Community Secondary School Ekede, Community Secondary School Ebukuma, Community Secondary School Dema, Community Secondary School Ibotirem, Community Secondary School Egbormung, Government Comprehensive Secondary School Ataba, Community Secondary School Oronija, and Obolo Central Grammar School UBE Akaradi.
During the visit,Seminars,talk show on Basic Etiquette, Personal Hygiene, Sex Education, Security Education, and the Roles/Responsibilities of Children was held in the various Schools .
The theme for this year Children's Day celebration is " Investing in our future means investing in our children".
In Nigeria, Children's Day is celebrated on the 27th May of every year, and It is a day the Government declares public holiday for schools.
