A High Court sitting in PortHarcourt has adjourned to 2nd of June 2022 on the bail application filed by the Governorship Aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Rivers State, Farah Dagogo.
Trial Judge, Justice Chiwendu Nworgu adjourned the case after ruling on the preliminary objection on the issue of jurisdiction filed by counsel to the defendant which the court dismissed.
Justice Nworgu advised the parties to return on the next adjourned date to argue the motion for bail.
Speaking to Newsmen, Counsel to the defendant,Cosmos Eenweluzo after explaining his reason for withdrawing the preliminary objection on jurisdiction, expressed displeasure that the action of the prosecution is intentional to still have his client in correctional center.
On his part, prosecution counsel Chidi Ekeh dismissed the allegations by the defence counsel, stating that they have the right to respond to the defence application.
Mr. Ekeh said it is not true that the process was to have the member representing Degema-Bonny Federal Constituency stay in prison Custody.
