Driver Allegedly Brutalized By NSCDC Officers Seeks Justice

 






A driver Arowosaye Taofeeq who was allegedly brutalized by personnel of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps,NSCDC;in boundary town between Rivers  and Imo States has called for justice.

Mr Taofeeq told was correspondent that he was conveying passengers from waterlines in PortHarcourt when he got to the boundary town between Rivers and Imo states after Omerelu in Ikwerre LGA.

The alleged victim said as he was about to cross the NSCDC checkpoint,a boy on mufti who allegedly collects money for the Civil defence officers hit his car.

The driver stated that he came down to enquire from the  boy why he hit his vehicle when the road is double lane.

According to him,the boy asked if  the driver was challenging him.
He said the boy allegedly collecting money for the Civil Defence personnel started hitting him with sticks .

"As I was about holding him,the  Civil Defence officers on uniform came and started beating me,I was asking them my offence ,they handcuffed me and  used sticks to beat him.

"They broke my finger while beating me.It was passersby and passengers who intervened and asked them what is my offence before they removed the handcuff on me.
"All my body is paining me,my head and parts of my body is paining me" he said.

Mr Taofeeq also revealed that he has communicated to the Public Relations Officer of NSCDC in Rivers State who asked him to send his details and brief description of what happened.

Mr Taofeeq said he has done as instructed and the NSCDC spokesperson in the state said he will call him back.

Missing Person: Rivers State Police Command declares Miss Joy Woke Wiro

A  statement by the Spokesperson for the Rivers state Police command,SP Grace Iringe-Koko disclosed that she is 17 year old,a native of Ibaa in Emohua Local Government Area of the State,fair in complexion and about 5ft tall, speaks English and Ikwerre languages. Ghost Lawyer Defends Client in Port Harcourt Court

  A magistrate court sitting in Port Harcourt was thrown into confusion today Thursday, the 12th of March, 2026 when it noticed that a lawyer who had died since last year, 2025 December appeared before it on Tuesday the 10th of February, 2026 to conduct his matter.
