Ban On Spy Plate Number: Rivers Police Command Set Up Task Force To Monitor Compliance

 Rivers State Commissioner of Police, CP Eboka Friday has directed enforcement on the ban on the use Police SPY Number Plates by vehicle owners in the State.



This is in accordance with the directive of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Baba on the ban across the federation.

CP Friday therefore ordered the Department of Operations, Divisional Police Officers, Area Commanders and Tactical Team Commanders to ensure that all police SPY Number Plates currently in use in the State whether authorized or otherwise are confiscated with immediate effect.

Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Grace Iringe-Koko  in a statement said the Commissioner of Police enjoined law abiding citizens who are in possession of such number plates to submit same to the Police Headquarters or the nearest Police formation.


According to the statement, the Commissioner of Police further orders that, Police officers and other sister security agencies attached to VIPs who also use SPY Number Plates in the State should ensure compliance.

He appealed for the continuous support and cooperation of Rivers People as the order is geared towards strengthening security in the State and the nation at large.  

CP Friday tasked Police officers to shun human rights violation, extortion and other unethical conduct during the operation, as a Taskforce Team has been constituted and mandated to go round the 23 Local Government Areas of the State to monitor compliance.

Missing Person: Rivers State Police Command declares Miss Joy Woke Wiro

A  statement by the Spokesperson for the Rivers state Police command,SP Grace Iringe-Koko disclosed that she is 17 year old,a native of Ibaa in Emohua Local Government Area of the State,fair in complexion and about 5ft tall, speaks English and Ikwerre languages. Ghost Lawyer Defends Client in Port Harcourt Court

  A magistrate court sitting in Port Harcourt was thrown into confusion today Thursday, the 12th of March, 2026 when it noticed that a lawyer who had died since last year, 2025 December appeared before it on Tuesday the 10th of February, 2026 to conduct his matter. When the matter was called for hearing, and the lawyer was not present, the court on inquiry was informed by the litigant that his lawyer died since last year December 2025.
