Abua Odual PHC Debunks Deaths Of 20 Children From Measles

Abua/ Odual Local Government Area of Rivers State says contrary to News making the rounds about deaths of children following measles outbreak, no life was lost in the area.

The Head of Primary Healthcare Department, Abua/ Odual Local Government Area, Dr Henry Iboh who spoke to our Correspondent, said a team of medical experts were in the communities two days ago and that no life was lost.

He urged bearers of malicious rumours to always verify their stories before rushing to the media.

Dr Iboh however noted that there was mild outbreak of measles in the area and parents to make their children available for immunization.

The Head Primary Healthcare Department urged parents to always go to the Health Centres to immunize their children under the age of five against childhood killer diseases.
