National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, NAPTIP; in Rivers State has denied insinuations that the underaged girls used for prostitution at a brothel in Mile 2 Diobu Port Harcourt City Local Government Area who were rescued last Saturday were handed over to NAPTIP.
Head of NAPTIP Rivers State Command, Nwamaka Ikediashi in an interview with our Correspondent said the Police never handed over anyone to the Agency.
Ikediashi stated that they heard of the arrest but no victim or suspect was handed over to the Agency.
The NAPTIP Head revealed that she visited the Commissioner of Police, Eboka Friday over the matter and the Commissioner told her that it was likely the matter has been charged to court.
The Police in Rivers State had rescued some underaged girls from a brothel in Port Harcourt who were allegedly used for prostitution.
