Rivers State Government Lines Up Activities To Celebrate Nigeria At 62


 

The Government of Rivers State  invites the public to the different activities slated for the commemoration of the 62nd Independence Anniversary in the State.

In a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary Special Services Bureau in the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. George Nwaeke, the activities will commence with an Interdenominational Church Service at the St. Paul’s Cathedral, Diobu on Sunday, 25th September 2022 by 10 am.

Other activities are a Juma’at Service on Friday, 30th September 2022 at the JIBWIS Directorate Headquarters Central Mosque, 36 Bonny Street, Port Harcourt Township, by 1:00. A grand finale will hold at the Sharks Football Stadium Port Harcourt on Saturday, 1st October 2022.

Missing Person: Rivers State Police Command declares Miss Joy Woke Wiro

A  statement by the Spokesperson for the Rivers state Police command,SP Grace Iringe-Koko disclosed that she is 17 year old,a native of Ibaa in Emohua Local Government Area of the State,fair in complexion and about 5ft tall, speaks English and Ikwerre languages. SP Koko said the missing girl left home on Monday, September 8th,2025. All efforts made to trace her whereabout proved abortive. Hoodlums Kidnap Students Of Rivers State University

 By: Awajis Josiah-Chijindu  The Rivers State Police Command has confirmed that five students of the Rivers State University were abducted at Rumuche/Rumuohia community in Emohua local government area of the state. Confirming the incident, Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko said today 2nd December 2025, a group of suspected cultists, numbering about five, attacked an isolated area in Rumuche/Rumuohia Community. The hoodlums shot and abducted five persons to an unknown destination.
