Rivers APC Frowns At Rivers State University Employment List

The All Progressives Congress in Rivers State have faulted the employment list released recently by the authority of Rivers State University, RSU; that went viral on social media with a section of the State been beneficiaries.

State Acting Publicity Secretary of the party Mr Darlington Nwauju condemned the list which he said was dominated by people from Obio Akpor local government Area .

Mr. Nwauju in an interview with Radio Nigeria in PortHarcourt said the state is made up of twenty three local government Areas and wondered why only those from Obio Akpor should be beneficiaries of the employment.

APC Spokesperson in the state stated that the employment at RSU clearly negates the provisions and spirit of the 1999 Constitution , Chapter 2 Section 14 subsection 4 under the Directive Principles of State Policy, which talks about promoting a sense of belongingness that is an important ingredient for cohesion within the state, which he said has been breached.

Mr. Nwauju called on Governor Nyesom Wike to direct the current employment list published to be withdrawn in the overall  interest of the state.

He advised that the entire process be completely reviewed and all those behind the divisive and ethnically biased exercise be relieved of their duties immediately.

Mr. Nwauju appealed to the Rivers State House of Assembly to ensure that the unity , Peace and Progress of the State is protected.
