The Rivers state House of Assembly has passed a motion de-recognising Sir Celestine Omehia as a former governor of Rivers State.
The House, which had in the early days of Governor Nyesom Wike resolved to recognize, Omehia as a former Governor, rescinded its earlier resolution, during plenary on Thursday, 6 October, 2022.
The House also resolved that Omehia seizes to be addressed as ‘His Excellency’ henceforth.
The Rivers State House of Assembly equally resolved that Sir Omehia should refund all monetary entitlements he has so far received from the Rivers State Government as of September 2022, including the sum of 600 million in benefits and 96.5 million in pension within seven days.
