Christmas: OYC President Charge Youths To Maintain Peace In Obolo Communities

In the spirit of celebrating Christmas president Obolo Youth Coalition Comrade Ijonama Amon has called on all  Youths from the Obolo extraction to maintain peace during and after the yuletide season.

Comrade Amon who spoke with our Correspondent in PortHarcourt enjoined youths particularly in Andoni, to strive to sustain the existing peace that was collectively achieved by all .

The Youth president charge youths
to create a peaceful atmosphere for government to develop the area.

"We must protect any projects in our communities and support the LGA Chairman in maintaining the existing peace to attract private and foreign investors to initiate businesses in our domain for development to spread across our LGA".

Comrade Amon said Christmas is a time to  reflect on the sacrifices made by Jesus Christ who was born in Bethlehem, who choose to offer Himself as a sacrificial lamb to redeem mankind from the bondage of sins.

"It is my wish that we the Obolo Youths will emulate the life of Christ by making sacrifices that are needed to transform Obolo's land and communities into an egalitarian society.

Making sacrifices to build bridges of unity across the Obolo Nation, making sacrifices to build and sustain an enduring peace in Obolo land, we cannot afford to belittle our forefathers, who named our nation "OBOLO" it's time for us to make all the sacrifices needed to make Obolo reflect its true meaning. Obolo means light, progress, development and what have you, we must learn from the life of our Savior Jesus Christ, who toiled morning and night spreading the good news, yet was abused and castigated but He forgives us, therefore let's also forgive others so that Obolo can move forward.

As we join the entire world today to celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, we encourage you to be extremely careful in all our deeds, those traveling home should drive safely and respect traffic rules to protect our lives and others".

On the forthcoming General election, the president appealed to the people to be guided by their conscience and elect those who will not speak for themselves but for all.

While urging the people not to sell their votes and ruin their generation, warned the youths to desist from all forms of violence before, during, and after the general elections.

He advised the Obolo people to pick up their Permanent Voter's Cards, as they travel home for the festive period.
