Cult Kingpin, Two Others Gunned Down In Rivers State

 Three suspected cultists were killed in exchange of gunfire in Abarikpo community, Ahoada East Local Government Area in the wee hours of yesterday.

 

A community source who did not want to be mentioned told our Correspondent that members of a particular cult group had invaded the community at about 2am in the morning in search of their unit leader  James Bright aka Borokiri who was said to have converted the arms and ammunition of the group to his personal use.

 

 

According to reports, unit leader  of the group was said to have engaged the invading faction in a gun battle which resulted to the death of two of the invaders .


 Spokesperson  Rivers State Police command Grace Iringe-Koko who confirmed the incident said the Police on getting the information trailed James Bright to his hideout and on sighting the Police he opened fire and exchange of gunfire ensued which led to his death.

 

SP Iringe-Koko further explained that normalcy has returned as the Police has also intensified patrol in the area while investigation has commenced with a view to arresting other fleeing members of the group.

Ghost Lawyer Defends Client in Port Harcourt Court

  A magistrate court sitting in Port Harcourt was thrown into confusion today Thursday, the 12th of March, 2026 when it noticed that a lawyer who had died since last year, 2025 December appeared before it on Tuesday the 10th of February, 2026 to conduct his matter. When the matter was called for hearing, and the lawyer was not present, the court on inquiry was informed by the litigant that his lawyer died since last year December 2025. The court, presided over by Senior Magistrate Kingsley Briggs became confused and had to search through his record book, where he confirmed the lawyer’s presence during proceeding on Tuesday the 10th day of February, 2026.
