Police Meet With Youth Leaders,Warn Against Violence During Election In Rivers


 



Rivers State Commissioner of Police Okon Effiong has charged Youths to join in the fight against  cultism and other social vices in the state 

CP Effiong who gave the charge at an interactive meeting with Youth leaders in the state noted that no society can thrive in the midst of rancor and acrimony.

The police boss who wondered why politicians will engage youths in political thuggery and violence for selfish interest, advised youths  to be of good behaviour before, during and after the forthcoming election.

On the ongoing political campaigns in the state, CP Effiong stressed that all political parties should be given equal playing ground to  campaign in the state.


The Commissioner also maintained that the state witnessed a crime free society during the festive season as a result of efforts of Rivers people  in reporting promptly issues of security threats in their localities.

Also Speaking, chairman Rivers State Youth Leaders Coalition Comrade Legborsi Yamaabana assured the commissioner of police of the youth leaders support to ensure that the state enjoys peace before, during and after the election.

Comrade Yamaabana also passed vote of confidence on the Rivers State Commissioner of Police Okon Effiong for maintaining peace in the state.

  1. Nice one. There is need to maintain peace. Youths should grow beyond fighting and killing themselves for politicians whose children are not even around or who will not allow their children participate in those unsocial activities. Youths should wise up and man up

Missing Person: Rivers State Police Command declares Miss Joy Woke Wiro

A  statement by the Spokesperson for the Rivers state Police command,SP Grace Iringe-Koko disclosed that she is 17 year old,a native of Ibaa in Emohua Local Government Area of the State,fair in complexion and about 5ft tall, speaks English and Ikwerre languages. SP Koko said the missing girl left home on Monday, September 8th,2025. All efforts made to trace her whereabout proved abortive.
