Presidential Poll: AIG Assures Rivers People Of Peaceful Election


 


Nigerian Police says adequate security personnel have been deployed for the Presidential election in Rivers State.

Assistant Inspector General of Police AIG Abutu Yaro in charge of election in Rivers State made this known while briefing Newsmen in PortHarcourt.

AIG Yaro  assured residents of the state of adequate security before, during and after elections.

''There is no alternative to peace.We encourage all persons and all Police officers to be professional in discharge of their duties.We will ensure election is rancour free and peaceful.We keep you abreast as the election progress .

The only legacy we can impact as individuals is legacy of peace.We owe a duty to God and to the state to preserve the legacy of peace".He said 

AIG Yaro warned trouble makers and persons who will want to truncate the peace of the state to steer clear as the Police and other security agencies will not allow such situations to thrive.

''Persons with ulterior motive whose ideas is different from normal should stay away,we are not going to fold our arms and allow that situation to exist.

"We must ensure the environment remain peaceful and human activities conducted in the most peaceful way.

"Election Security Management in Nigeria has no provision for Vigilance group either electoral law or under the constitution that is applicable in Rivers State.

"Sufficient Police men has been deployed to cover Rivers State,I urge residents to come out enmasse and vote for candidates of their choice without fear''.AIG stressed 


He noted that the high powered delegation was mandated by the IGP to undertake Rivers State security management for the election.


AIG Yaro said the Police is determined to ensure professionalism and rancour free election  in the State.

Bille People Appeal To Governor Fubara To Prevail On Alhaji Asari Dokubo To Stop Evasion Of Territory
