PDP Suspends National Chairman Over Alleged Anti Party Activities

 



The Executive Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Igyorov Ward of Gboko Local Government Area of Benue State has suspended the National Chairman of the party, Senator  Iyorchia Ayu, with immediate effect.

Senator Ayu was allegedly suspended for anti-party activities after passing a vote of no confidence on him.


While reading a resolution, the secretary of the party in Igyorov ward, Mr.Vanger Dooyum, said Ayu’s anti-party activities – alongside his allies – contributed to PDP’s loss in his ward and local government in the governorship election.

Senator Ayu was also accused of not paying his annual dues as enshrined by the party’s constitution.

 Twelve out of the seventeen exco members signed the documents endorsing his suspension.

They also alleged that the PDP chieftain did not vote during the governorship and state assembly elections held on the 18th of March, 2023.

According to them, most of Ayu’s closest allies worked for the opposition All Progressive Congress (APC) which resulted in the abysmal performance of the PDP in Igyorov Ward.

The ward chairman of Igyorov, Kashi Philip, also signed the letter alongside the exco.

Ghost Lawyer Defends Client in Port Harcourt Court

  A magistrate court sitting in Port Harcourt was thrown into confusion today Thursday, the 12th of March, 2026 when it noticed that a lawyer who had died since last year, 2025 December appeared before it on Tuesday the 10th of February, 2026 to conduct his matter. When the matter was called for hearing, and the lawyer was not present, the court on inquiry was informed by the litigant that his lawyer died since last year December 2025. The court, presided over by Senior Magistrate Kingsley Briggs became confused and had to search through his record book, where he confirmed the lawyer’s presence during proceeding on Tuesday the 10th day of February, 2026.
