A prominent Son of Akwete in Ukwa East Local Government Area of Abia State, Dave Rufus Ordor, is calling on the Inspector General of Police, and other relevant agencies to investigate an alleged attempt to kill him on February 23rd, 2023.
During a chat with Africa Update, Ordor, said he has been receiving medical attention and his health has not been fully restored despite huge resources spent.
He stressed that the call on the Inspector General of Police to intervene is due to the alleged compromise of the Team investigating the attempted murder case.
His words: I was attacked at Professor Chinenye Sunday's compound in Akwete Ukwa East Local Government Area of Abia State. They were arrested by Zone 9 Umuohia for attempted murder. Those arrested are: Professor Chinenye Sunday, Irechi Ordor and his wife May Nnenta Ordor, Chief Chinyeaka Nwozo, Chidike Bebe (Mopole), Paul Nwamkpa (Pakuty), Ezechi Nwachukwu, Maduawuchi Kingsley Kanu ( Olulo), and Professor Chinyere's driver.
"Initial masterminds of the crime were three members of Umuodike, namely: Ibelema Darlington Ordor, Maduka Ordor, and Ekuluo Samuel Ordor, and one other person (name withheld) that used to sponsor Irechi Ordor and his wife in their tyrannical plot for village chieftaincy, these three last men have virtually destroyed the peace and unity of Umuodike Village and made the village a laughing stock in Akwete and Ndoki as a whole.
"It was through my effort to curb the crises that they have been causing for the past twelve years, that I spent almost nine million naira of my hard earned money in different Court of competent jurisdiction and I have also been to Akwete Joint Council of Chiefs several times to present my case before them and against Professor Chinenye Sunday for the crisis and division he's been causing in Umuodike Village in trying to illegally install Irechi Ordor who is almost 80years old, to which 90% of members of Umuodike Village rejected because of his antecedents and age but Professor Chinenye continued, which eventually led to this attempt to murder me by Professor Chinenye,Irechi Ordor and their cohorts.
"Another reason they gave for trying to murder me was because am a member of APC and supporting Bola Tinubu to be President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. They blamed me for not been a member of Obidient. They said that the President elect will die before long and that they will kill me that night before he dies. That is what I went through. I am still going through post traumatic experience of that night and I know that justice will be served because nobody is above the law.
"The Professor is misleading the police by claiming he's the traditional ruler of Umuihieze Akwete, which he is not and he admonished them to address him as Eze. Since the crime is attempted murder, it is bailable even though they don't deserve to walk around in the society subject to the crime they committed against me. But the law must take its course. I pray that what happened to me should not happen to any other person, example of this is what happened to Ikoku4 in Port Harcourt by Eagle Crack, that the same thing happened to me. Justice must take its course.
"I am a free born of Akwete, a prominent grandson of a prominent Chief and I have earned important position and integrity in the society with great values. That is why it is shocking that certain undesirable group of people from a small clan of 15 buildings will connive with my own blood brothers of the same father and mother and his wife to torture me for 4 hours by tying my legs, tying my hands with rubber, stopping blood circulation on my legs and hand.
"Urinating on me, beating me, climbing my feet, taking all money in my possession, taking my handset, shooting guns and dump me in a police cell in connivance with the DPO and DCO of Akwete Police Division and playing deaf ear to my plea for medical attention and contacts for help. I was left to die, it takes a superman at my age to survive such saga and I thank God to be alive today to tell the true story."
