Police Officers Sustain Injuries As Gunmen Shoot One Dead, Kidnap Their Target In Rivers

 


Two Police Officers sustained different degrees of injuries when chasing suspected Kidnappers who abducted a yet to be identified man around Obiri Ikwerre axis of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State .


Eyewitness account disclosed that the vehicle of the Police had summersaulted after the Kidnappers they were chasing opened fire on them which resulted to loss of control by the driver of the Police van.


The eyewitness stated that the Kidnappers fled the scene with their abductee while another Police patrol van came to the scene and conveyed the Injured officers and a man shot dead to an undisclosed hospital.

Reacting to the incident,SP Grace Iringe-Koko told our Correspondent that the Kidnappers shot dead the aide of the abducted man.


SP Iringe-Koko noted that no Police officer died, but they sustained injuries and  have been taken to undisclosed hospital while the Commissioner of Police, Effiong Okon has deployed tactical teams and ordered for unconditional release of the abducted man.

Ghost Lawyer Defends Client in Port Harcourt Court

  A magistrate court sitting in Port Harcourt was thrown into confusion today Thursday, the 12th of March, 2026 when it noticed that a lawyer who had died since last year, 2025 December appeared before it on Tuesday the 10th of February, 2026 to conduct his matter. When the matter was called for hearing, and the lawyer was not present, the court on inquiry was informed by the litigant that his lawyer died since last year December 2025. Federal Government Yet to Approve Adire as NYSC Uniform, Minister Clarifies
