Police Operatives Arrest Suspected Child Trafficker, Abductor

Eagle-eyed operatives of the Rivers State Police Command, in furtherance of an investigation into a distress call from a local vigilante at Rumuoghalu that they had discovered a building close to Akas Estate at Rumuekini Community in Obio/ Akpor  Local Government Area, on May 27th 2023, arrested One Akudo Ozoroh  aged 39, the alleged owner of a Child Trafficking center where six pregnant girls were rescued recently. 

Upon interrogation, the suspect Akudo Ozoroh confessed to the crime and gave useful information to the Police ,that the girls were lured and Promised to take care of until their delivery, while the babies were sold within the range of three hundred and four hundred thousand Naira depending on the month of the pregnancy and were given a token ranging from one hundred and fifty thousand Naira to two hundred thousand Naira depending on the sex of the baby.

The suspect claimed that she had been in the business a long time and had succeeded in selling many children, which she could not give a vivid account of. 

The prime suspect and one of the buyer, one Pastor Mary Ade 46 year old are currently in police custody. 





Investigation is in top gear for the arrest of other suspects in connection to the crime. 

Meanwhile, CP Nwonyi Emeka has advised parents and guardians to be security conscious with regard to their children and promptly report any suspicious activities or persons to the nearest police station or by calling the Command’s emergency hotlines on 08032003514 and 08098880134.

Missing Person: Rivers State Police Command declares Miss Joy Woke Wiro

A  statement by the Spokesperson for the Rivers state Police command,SP Grace Iringe-Koko disclosed that she is 17 year old,a native of Ibaa in Emohua Local Government Area of the State,fair in complexion and about 5ft tall, speaks English and Ikwerre languages. SP Koko said the missing girl left home on Monday, September 8th,2025. All efforts made to trace her whereabout proved abortive. Ghost Lawyer Defends Client in Port Harcourt Court

  A magistrate court sitting in Port Harcourt was thrown into confusion today Thursday, the 12th of March, 2026 when it noticed that a lawyer who had died since last year, 2025 December appeared before it on Tuesday the 10th of February, 2026 to conduct his matter. When the matter was called for hearing, and the lawyer was not present, the court on inquiry was informed by the litigant that his lawyer died since last year December 2025.
