Rivers Police Orders Adequate Security Ahead Of May 29th Inauguration

The Commissioner of Police Rivers State Command, CP. Nwonyi Polycarp Emeka has ordered the maximum deployment of personnel, intelligence, and operational resources of the command for effective policing of Gowon Stadium Elekahia, Port Harcourt, and other parts of the state in line with the swearing-in ceremony of the Rivers State Governor-elect and his Deputy on May 29, 2023.

In a statement by the Command's Public Relations Officer SP Grace Iringe-Koko, the CP orders all Area Commanders, Tactical Commanders, and Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) to place adequate security in their areas of responsibility according to the operation order designed by the Command.

The statement further warned police officers to be professional and civil in carrying out their duties.

According to the statement, members of the public are informed that there will be diversion around entry and exit routes within the Stadium as part of efforts to ensure free flow of traffic. Members of the public are therefore urged to be law-abiding and cooperate with officers on duty for a peaceful inaugural process.

CP Emeka assures the people of Rivers State of his commitment to ensuring their safety and security.

Missing Person: Rivers State Police Command declares Miss Joy Woke Wiro

A statement by the Spokesperson for the Rivers state Police command,SP Grace Iringe-Koko disclosed that she is 17 year old,a native of Ibaa in Emohua Local Government Area of the State,fair in complexion and about 5ft tall, speaks English and Ikwerre languages. Ghost Lawyer Defends Client in Port Harcourt Court

A magistrate court sitting in Port Harcourt was thrown into confusion today Thursday, the 12th of March, 2026 when it noticed that a lawyer who had died since last year, 2025 December appeared before it on Tuesday the 10th of February, 2026 to conduct his matter. When the matter was called for hearing, and the lawyer was not present, the court on inquiry was informed by the litigant that his lawyer died since last year December 2025.
