Rivers State CP Redeployed To Force Headquarters

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Usman Alkali Baba has ordered the posting of CP Okon Okon Effiong to head the Department of Finance and Administration, ICT; Force Headquarters, Abuja.

CP Zachariah A. Fera is posted to Force Criminal Investigation (FCID) Annex, while Enugu CP Nwonyi Polycarp Emeka is posted to Rivers State Command and CP Gyogon Augustine Grimah is posted to Cross River State Command.

The IGP has tasked the Commissioners of Police to deploy all requisite assets in ensuring sanity, professional standards and discipline in all ramifications in their new places of assignment.

In a statement, Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi charged the senior police officers to effectively apply their wealth of experience in improving existing structural arrangements, towards achieving a citizen-focused and community-oriented policing.

According to the statement,the IGP called for support and cooperation from members of the public to enable the newly posted senior officers to function optimally on their mandate.

Missing Person: Rivers State Police Command declares Miss Joy Woke Wiro

A statement by the Spokesperson for the Rivers state Police command,SP Grace Iringe-Koko disclosed that she is 17 year old,a native of Ibaa in Emohua Local Government Area of the State,fair in complexion and about 5ft tall, speaks English and Ikwerre languages. Ghost Lawyer Defends Client in Port Harcourt Court

A magistrate court sitting in Port Harcourt was thrown into confusion today Thursday, the 12th of March, 2026 when it noticed that a lawyer who had died since last year, 2025 December appeared before it on Tuesday the 10th of February, 2026 to conduct his matter. When the matter was called for hearing, and the lawyer was not present, the court on inquiry was informed by the litigant that his lawyer died since last year December 2025. The court, presided over by Senior Magistrate Kingsley Briggs became confused and had to search through his record book, where he confirmed the lawyer’s presence during proceeding on Tuesday the 10th day of February, 2026.
