Police Vs Cultists: Rivers CP Deploy Seasoned Crime Fighters To Ahoada

Information reaching our desk  has it that there is palpable tension in camps of cult groups terrorizing Ahoada East,West Local Government Areas over the strategic deployment  by Rivers State Commissioner of Police, CP Nwonyi Emeka who  is matching words with action since his assumption of office as the 44th Commissioner of Police in the state.

We gathered that CP Emeka in a bid to ensure cultism and other violent crimes  effectively tackled, has redeployed the Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) in  Ahoada, Ahoada East and Akinima, Ahoada West LGAs.

We learned  that CP Emeka deployed  SP Bako  to take charge of  Ahoada Police Division and another seasoned crime fighter to Akinima Police Division.


Sources close to the cult groups told our Correspondent that the news of deployment of the seasoned crime fighters to the two divisions in the areas is now a source of concern to the hoodlums as it may not be business as usual for the gang members.


Investigation by our correspondent  indicates that the level of insecurity has drastically reduced since the assumption of office by CP Nwonyi Emeka in Emohua, Ahoada East and West LGAs which are flashpoints for cult related killings.




Meanwhile, Rivers Police Boss in his unrelenting bid to ensure maximum security in the state, held a stakeholders meeting with Local Government Chairmen from Omuma, Etche, Ikwerre,Obio/Akpor, Port Harcourt LGAs, Traditional rulers,Youth leaders, Community Development Committee (CDC)  on Thursday (June 8,2023).

CP Emeka urged the Traditional rulers to identify and give Police useful information about criminal elements in their domain as crime can be tackled effectively by maximum collaboration between the community and the Police.

The Rivers State Police commissioner  said such information given to the Police must be devoid of sentiment, bias and witch-hunt.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Grace Iringe-Koko confirmed redeployment of the DPOs.

Meanwhile a stakeholder in the area, Public Relations Officer of Akoh Youth Congress, Hector Chinem has commended  CP Emeka for the deployment of seasoned crime fighters to the Divisions in the area.

Comrade Chinem noted that the strategic deployment by the Rivers Police Boss will lead to reduction of crime to zero.

Missing Person: Rivers State Police Command declares Miss Joy Woke Wiro

A  statement by the Spokesperson for the Rivers state Police command,SP Grace Iringe-Koko disclosed that she is 17 year old,a native of Ibaa in Emohua Local Government Area of the State,fair in complexion and about 5ft tall, speaks English and Ikwerre languages.
