Rivers State Police Command command has shifted the ZERO CRIME INITIATIVE events scheduled to commenced on Thursday 14th September 2023, to begin from 2nd to 8th of October 2023 following the tragic death of one of her officer, former DPO of Ahoada SP Bako Angbashim .
Relating the management decision to the RIVERS ZERO CRIME TEAM, the commissioner of police CP Emeka Nwonyi, who was represented by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of operations Olugbenga Adepoju in a press briefing at the command's headquarters in Port Harcourt told Newsmen that the command is still in mourning mood.
DCP Adepoju apologized to the public and the organizers for the inconveniences they may suffer as a result of the change in date, noting that the police is working to arrest those involved in the murder.
On her part, Coordinator Rivers Zero Crime Initiative, Kate Ezeigbo commiserated with the Command on the lost of their officer, stating that the essence of the initiative is to fight against crime and assured that the team will go with the new date.
Our correspondent reports that a minute silence was observed in honour of the late DPO .
