Police Parades Four Officers For Alleged Extortion Of Six Point Five Million Naira

Rivers State Commissioner of Police, CP Emeka Nwonyi has paraded four Policemen attached to a neighbouring State Command over alleged extortion of about three persons in Port Harcourt.

 

The four officers were said to have extorted six point five million naira from three boys after tagging them internet fraudsters.

 

CP Nwonyi during the press briefing said in a follow up to the release of a kidnapped victim, arrested one Henry Thomas, on August 20, 2023 during investigation, the suspect led operatives to Akinnima community, Ahoada West where two pump action guns, six cartridges were recovered from the suspect.



The Commissioner also revealed that in a follow up to the death of another cultist and kidnapper, one Temple Woko was arrested in connection to the case at Rumuodogo.

 

CP Nwonyi noted that two suspects were fatally wounded while one AK 47 riffle, 6 magazines were recovered.

 


The Rivers State Police Boss also said on 30th August, 2023 detectives of the command received a distress call that a motorcycle has been snatched from the rider around Choba axis.

 

CP Nwonyi stated that the Police quickly mobilized and tracked the Yahama motorcycle to Abuja waterfront where one Gift was arrested on 31st August.

Missing Person: Rivers State Police Command declares Miss Joy Woke Wiro

A  statement by the Spokesperson for the Rivers state Police command,SP Grace Iringe-Koko disclosed that she is 17 year old,a native of Ibaa in Emohua Local Government Area of the State,fair in complexion and about 5ft tall, speaks English and Ikwerre languages. Ghost Lawyer Defends Client in Port Harcourt Court

  A magistrate court sitting in Port Harcourt was thrown into confusion today Thursday, the 12th of March, 2026 when it noticed that a lawyer who had died since last year, 2025 December appeared before it on Tuesday the 10th of February, 2026 to conduct his matter.
