Automobile Technician Shot Dead By Suspected Cultists In Port Harcourt

Suspected cult members on Tuesday 10th of October 2023 shot dead an automobile technician Mr.John Okon at Abakiliki/Nanka street Mile 1 Diobu Port Harcourt.


We gathered the incident occured at about 8:55pm.

A source in the area told our Correspondent that Mr. Okon was engaged in a discussion  with a lady inside his vehicle when about three gunmen arrived the scene,shot him on the head and fled.

The source also revealed that before the gunmen fled, one of the suspected killers came back to confirm if the automobile technician was dead.


The incident we learnt, caused serious panic in the area as passersby and residents who were outside as at the time of the incident scampered for safety.

Unconfirmed report has it that,before the unfortunate incident happened ,a member of a cult group in the area had warned the deceased on some occasions to desist from communicating with the girl who was with him at the time of the incident.

However,Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer,SP Grace Iringe-Koko  was yet to respond to enquiries on the matter as of the time of filing this report.

Missing Person: Rivers State Police Command declares Miss Joy Woke Wiro

A  statement by the Spokesperson for the Rivers state Police command,SP Grace Iringe-Koko disclosed that she is 17 year old,a native of Ibaa in Emohua Local Government Area of the State,fair in complexion and about 5ft tall, speaks English and Ikwerre languages.
