Police Parades Car Snatchers In Rivers State

The Rivers State Police Command has paraded some suspected car snatchers and kidnappers, arrested around Port Harcourt within the last one week. 

 

Briefing Newsmen at the command’s headquarters in Port Harcourt the Commissioner of Police, CP Nwonyi Emeka said Police operatives on Saturday at about 10pm along  Ozuoba road sighted a black Toyota corolla and when the car and the driver one, Destiny Amah was taken to the station and upon search, a pistol was recovered.

CP Emeka also disclosed that on the 16th of this month operatives of the Rivers State Police command arrested one Samuel Chinedu along Redeemed Church at Sam Wobo Street with different master car keys which he allegedly uses in snatching vehicles.

 

 

The Police boss further revealed that the CP Strike Force on Saturday last week acting on credible information arrested one victor Jonah at Chokocho Etche and recovered two cut to size gun.

Also on Friday, operatives of Mile 1 Diobu, arrested one Tony Christopher who snatched a Jetta car parked at Education bus stop and took it to Ayama axis of Diobu where he wanted to sell it as scrap.

CP Emeka said on Saturday based on exit blockage against fleeing criminals, a Mazda car was abandoned along Egede, Mile 1 Diobu and recovered the car.


Similarly, on 16th October, 2023 officers on patrol along waterlines , approached a bolt driver with  pretence that the car was faulty, the two occupants on sighting the Police ran away while two others were arrested with dangerous weapon.

Missing Person: Rivers State Police Command declares Miss Joy Woke Wiro

A  statement by the Spokesperson for the Rivers state Police command,SP Grace Iringe-Koko disclosed that she is 17 year old,a native of Ibaa in Emohua Local Government Area of the State,fair in complexion and about 5ft tall, speaks English and Ikwerre languages. SP Koko said the missing girl left home on Monday, September 8th,2025. All efforts made to trace her whereabout proved abortive. Ghost Lawyer Defends Client in Port Harcourt Court

  A magistrate court sitting in Port Harcourt was thrown into confusion today Thursday, the 12th of March, 2026 when it noticed that a lawyer who had died since last year, 2025 December appeared before it on Tuesday the 10th of February, 2026 to conduct his matter. When the matter was called for hearing, and the lawyer was not present, the court on inquiry was informed by the litigant that his lawyer died since last year December 2025.
