Joy In Rivers Community As Police Burst Criminal Hideout, Arrest Two Kingpins Syndicates

By Awajis Josiah-Chijindu                    The suspects  Rivers State Police Command responding to series of complaints has arrested  two arm robbery syndicates, Mr. Azubuike Orji, aged 27, a native of Arochukwu in Abia State, and Mr. Anthony Augustine, aged 22,on December 1st and 10th, 2023. This the commissioner of police,  CP Tunji Disu said in a press release to Newsmen while celebrating the effort of the men of Anti-Kidnapping Unit  who carried out the Arrest. According to CP Disu, the Rivers State Police Command received a formal complaint amongst others from a victim who had been robbed of his valuables at Odani junction in Elelenwo by a group of armed men on December 1, 2023. On getting the complaint, the Commissioner of Police immediately tasked the Anti-Kidnapping Unit to flush out the armed robbers from the area. Rivers State Police Command Assure Security, Ban Fireworks On Festive Season

 by Awajis Josiah-Chijindu The Rivers State Police Command has banned the use of fireworks during the festive season. The ban is in view to ensure safety and security in the State. Commissioner of Police, CP Olatunji  Disu made this known in a press briefing to Newsmen in the State on the “Security Plan For The Festive Season”. He stated that the ban measure is crucial to prevent accidents, injuries, and disturbance of public peace. The ban on fireworks remains in force. Two Die In Rivers State, Police Reacts

by Awajis Josiah-Chijindu The Rivers State Police Command in a statement to #AwajisGeorgeNews has confirmed receiving a message from DPO Rumukpakani Division that one hoodlum, identity yet unknown, ran towards Inspector Ade Rotimi attached to the APC pin-down point by Ada Gorge Road with three others, stabbed him multiple times on his head, and collected his rifle. Police Spokesperson in the State, SP Grace Iringe-Koko further confirmed that the hoodlum also injured one inspector, Bala Yusuf on his hand and ran towards the Boro Pit Area.  According to the statement, the hoodlum  fired indiscriminately and shot a man yet to be identified. He was given a hot chase by the policemen on duty, but when he became more violent, the police officers fired to subdue him from causing more harms.   By Awajis Josiah-Chijindu  People scampered for safety as a man known as Nuhu, a popular scavenger reportedly snatched an Ak 47 riffle from  one of  the conventional security guard attached to the house of Minister of Federal Government Territory (FCT), Barrister Nyesom Wike at Ada George  road Port Harcourt on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at  Chinda/Ada George. #awajisgeorgenews gathered that the said Nuhu suspected to have taken hard drug (Colos) ran with the snatched Ak 47 riffle to Location road off Chinda way Mile 4, opposite Boropit where he began to shoot indiscriminately resulting to the killing of another man said to be a scavenger. Police Confirm Killing Of Three Persons By Suspected Cultists In Ahoada
