Two Die In Rivers State, Police Reacts

The Rivers State Police Command in a statement to #AwajisGeorgeNews has confirmed receiving a message from DPO Rumukpakani Division that one hoodlum, identity yet unknown, ran towards Inspector Ade Rotimi attached to the APC pin-down point by Ada Gorge Road with three others, stabbed him multiple times on his head, and collected his rifle.

Police Spokesperson in the State, SP Grace Iringe-Koko further confirmed that the hoodlum also injured one inspector, Bala Yusuf on his hand and ran towards the Boro Pit Area. 

According to the statement, the hoodlum  fired indiscriminately and shot a man yet to be identified.

He was given a hot chase by the policemen on duty, but when he became more violent, the police officers fired to subdue him from causing more harms.

The snatched rifle was recovered from him, while the injured hoodlum, the lifeless body of the person he shot, and the two injured police officers were taken to the hospital.

The two unknown persons shot were confirmed dead by the doctor on duty, and their corpses deposited at UPTH Mortuary for autopsy.


SP  Iringe-Koko  added that the two police officers are responding to treatment at the hospital, while  investigation is ongoing.

Missing Person: Rivers State Police Command declares Miss Joy Woke Wiro

A  statement by the Spokesperson for the Rivers state Police command,SP Grace Iringe-Koko disclosed that she is 17 year old,a native of Ibaa in Emohua Local Government Area of the State,fair in complexion and about 5ft tall, speaks English and Ikwerre languages. SP Koko said the missing girl left home on Monday, September 8th,2025. All efforts made to trace her whereabout proved abortive.
