Joy In Rivers Community As Police Burst Criminal Hideout, Arrest Two Kingpins Syndicates

Rivers State Police Command responding to series of complaints has arrested  two arm robbery syndicates, Mr. Azubuike Orji, aged 27, a native of Arochukwu in Abia State, and Mr. Anthony Augustine, aged 22,on December 1st and 10th, 2023.

This the commissioner of police,  CP Tunji Disu said in a press release to Newsmen while celebrating the effort of the men of Anti-Kidnapping Unit  who carried out the Arrest.

According to CP Disu, the Rivers State Police Command received a formal complaint amongst others from a victim who had been robbed of his valuables at Odani junction in Elelenwo by a group of armed men on December 1, 2023.

On getting the complaint, the Commissioner of Police immediately tasked the Anti-Kidnapping Unit to flush out the armed robbers from the area. In response to the Police Chief's directive, the unit carried out stop-and-search operations,  placed the area under surveillance and various investigations that led to the arrests of the kingpins. 

Items recovered from the arrested arm robbers include locally made pistols, an iPhone XX, suspected packs of marijuana and POS machines. Rivers State Police also discovered a brothel runned as guised by Mr. Anthony Augustine used as hideouts for their criminal activities.

Investigations are still ongoing as the police seek to arrest other members of the syndicate.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Disu encouraged residents of Rivers State to promptly report crime as it happens to enable the police apprehend criminals and nip crime in the bud. 

He also warned the public against buying used items, especially phones, regardless of how cheap they are, citing that such purchases can lead to more significant problems.

He further counseled young people to desist from seeking to make wealth using dishonest means as they will be at the mercy of the law when caught.

CP Disu reiterated that the Rivers State Police Command will not stop pushing to apprehend every suspect on the command's wanted list and to rid the state of crime.

Missing Person: Rivers State Police Command declares Miss Joy Woke Wiro

A  statement by the Spokesperson for the Rivers state Police command,SP Grace Iringe-Koko disclosed that she is 17 year old,a native of Ibaa in Emohua Local Government Area of the State,fair in complexion and about 5ft tall, speaks English and Ikwerre languages. Ghost Lawyer Defends Client in Port Harcourt Court

  A magistrate court sitting in Port Harcourt was thrown into confusion today Thursday, the 12th of March, 2026 when it noticed that a lawyer who had died since last year, 2025 December appeared before it on Tuesday the 10th of February, 2026 to conduct his matter. When the matter was called for hearing, and the lawyer was not present, the court on inquiry was informed by the litigant that his lawyer died since last year December 2025.
