Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara has assured the people of Andoni Local Government Area that his administration will complete the ongoing construction of the Andoni section of the Ogoni-Andoni -Opobo Unity Road.

Governor Fubara who stated this in Ngo Town, headquarter of Andoni Local Government Area noted that despite the current challenges confronting his administration, he will not be distracted from his oath of office to protect and defend the people of Rivers and their interests.

This the governor declared shortly after inspecting the entire stretch of the Andoni section of the Ogoni-Andoni-Opobo Unity road on Thursday 21st December,2023 to ascertain the extent of work that has been done. While checking the work done, the governor promised to extend the road that leads to the secretariat which was not captured during the time of awarding the construction of the road.

I have to say that the contractor has done a very good job. However, we did observe that about 1km of road that will lead to the council secretariat was somehow not captured in the scope and I think it will be proper that we do that too.

Governor Fubara recalled that during the campaigns leading to his election, the Andoni section of the road was in terrible condition but after the decision was taken to re-award the contract few months into his administration, the milestone achieved has been commendable.

On his part, a youth leader, Mr. Dick Nkakeek appealed to the governor to consider the construction of Andoni's internal roads including that of Oyorokoto town.

Responding to the youth leader request, Governor Fubara requested for patience pledging that his administration will consider the internal roads in Andoni once the Andoni section of the Ogoni-Andoni-Opobo Unity road has been completed.
