Andoni LGA Halt Alleged Politically Motivated Planned Protest In The Area

Authority of Andoni Local Government Area says it has uncovered plot by some persons to stage a politically-sponsored protest in the area on Saturday, 6th January 2024 and another plan by some groups to stage a counter protest.

In a statement, the council chairman Dr. Erastus Awortu, said while recognizing the right of the people to a peaceful  protest to express their views on issues affecting them as enshrined in the law, the council will not condone any act that could lead to a breach of peace in Andoni under the guise of a peaceful protest. 

According to Dr. Awortu, if the planned protest is allowed it could lead to a violent clash by the two groups or could be hijacked by those with ill-intention to unleash mayhem in the area.

The statement noted that the council gathered from reliable source that some political actors who are not pleased with the prevailing peace in Andoni may be behind the planned protest as part of their evil plot to return Andoni back to the inglorious days of heightened insecurity where Andoni was always in the news for the wrong reasons.

According to the statement, Traditional Rulers and Chiefs of the various Communities of Andoni are also put on notice to ensure no breach of peace in their domain.

The council has also put security Agencies on notice about the planned politically-sponsored staged protest in Andoni and also called on parents and guardians to caution their children and wards from being use by politicians to cause a breakdown of law and order in Andoni under the guise of a peaceful protest.

Missing Person: Rivers State Police Command declares Miss Joy Woke Wiro

A  statement by the Spokesperson for the Rivers state Police command,SP Grace Iringe-Koko disclosed that she is 17 year old,a native of Ibaa in Emohua Local Government Area of the State,fair in complexion and about 5ft tall, speaks English and Ikwerre languages. Ghost Lawyer Defends Client in Port Harcourt Court

  A magistrate court sitting in Port Harcourt was thrown into confusion today Thursday, the 12th of March, 2026 when it noticed that a lawyer who had died since last year, 2025 December appeared before it on Tuesday the 10th of February, 2026 to conduct his matter. When the matter was called for hearing, and the lawyer was not present, the court on inquiry was informed by the litigant that his lawyer died since last year December 2025.
