Cross section of Dignitaries at the eventRivers State Government says peace and protection of lives and property remains the panacea for more development in the State .
This was the submission of the Rivers State Governor,Sir Siminalayi Fubara at the official launch of project funded by European Union, organized by Search for Common Ground Nigeria with the theme.

Rivers State Governor,Sir Siminalayi Fubara represented by the Commissioner for Youth Development,Mr. Chisom Gbali explained that the project which is targeted at curbing crime and violence in the state is highly recommendable.
Sir Fubara who explained that the State will continue to support and partner projects that will bring more development to the state, called for more programs that will be beneficial to the youths.
On her part, Country Director, Search for Common Ground Nigeria, Mrs.Fatima Abubakar in her speech said the NGO designs its projects to collaborate with local and international partners to spearhead impactful initiatives aimed at mitigating violence and building resilience in communities across the Niger Delta.

Mrs.Abubakar revealed that the project seeks to foster inter-community collaboration around issues of social inclusiveness, lack of economic opportunities and environmental degradation to build trust and collaboration between communities, government and security actors for more participatory, community Centred security operations.
Meanwhile,Rivers State Chief Judge , Simeon Amadi in his goodwill message said the execution of project, will reduce crime rate to its barest minimum in the local communities across the state.
He said the state judiciary is ready to partner with the organization in the fight against crime in the State.
The event was graced by security agencies, traditional rulers, opinion leaders, civil society organizations and government officials.
