Dog Meat Seller Flees With Neighbour's Six Months Old Baby In Port Harcourt

A Dog meat seller from Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Erica has absconded with his neighbour's six months old male child at Anekelane,Mile 2 Diobu,Port Harcourt since yesterday, Sunday 29th September, 2024.

Report has it that the said Erica had just stayed two months in the compound before the incident.

Mother of the child, Mrs. Hope Sunday in an interview with Newsmen narrated how the neighbour absconded with her baby.

"My baby's name is Lucky Sunday .The baby is six months going to seven months.I stay at Anekelane N0.25,Mile 2 Diobu,PortHarcourt.

"I wanted to wash, then my neighbour said let me help you carry the baby,so that you can spread the clothes,then I give my baby to him.Why I give out my baby is that he likes to carry my baby always.

"So I started chasing my other children to go inside and sleep while he(neighbour) sat on the chair while carrying my baby.Before I pursue my other children inside and came out,I did not see him(neighbour) again.


"I ask a woman if she saw my neighbour with my baby she said he(neighbour) did not go far.I asked one brother,the brother said I should go to the lotto office that the brother (neighbour) said he want to charge phone there.I run to the lotto office,I did not see him(neighbour),till now I have not seen my neighbour and my baby.

"His name is Erica,he is my neighbour.I have also reported to the Police". She said 

 Our correspondent who visited the compound reports that residents who gathered to sympathize with  Mrs Hope Sunday expressed shock that the dog meat seller who is their neighbour can perpetrate such a wicked act.

Ghost Lawyer Defends Client in Port Harcourt Court

  A magistrate court sitting in Port Harcourt was thrown into confusion today Thursday, the 12th of March, 2026 when it noticed that a lawyer who had died since last year, 2025 December appeared before it on Tuesday the 10th of February, 2026 to conduct his matter. When the matter was called for hearing, and the lawyer was not present, the court on inquiry was informed by the litigant that his lawyer died since last year December 2025. The court, presided over by Senior Magistrate Kingsley Briggs became confused and had to search through his record book, where he confirmed the lawyer’s presence during proceeding on Tuesday the 10th day of February, 2026.
