Governor Fubara Showers Praises As Police Sends Forth CP Disu In Rivers State

Well meaning Individuals from all walks of lives, yesterday Wednesday, 9th October, 2024 trouped into Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital to celebrate a gallant police officer with an exceptional character, CP Olatunji Rilwan Disu who served as the 45th commissioner of police Rivers State.

In a Send Forth party organized by the Rivers State Police Command in honour of the outgone Commissioner of Police, CP Olatunji Disu, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara spots CP Disu as an exceptional Police officer who served diligently and surpassed expectation despite the turbulence in the state Political landscape.

Governor Fubara represented by the Secretary to State Government, Dr.Tammy Wenike Danagogo said, politicians on both divides in the State can attest to performance of CP Disu in crime fighting.

He urged CP Disu to replicate his performance in Rivers in his area of new assignment noting that out of one hundred percent, CP Disu scored  A (an Excellent mark).

The Governor also enjoined the new Commissioner of Police in the State, CP Mohammed Bala Mustapha to be professional and apolitical discharging his duty. 

In his speech, the newly deployed Rivers State Commissioner of Police, CP Mustapha said he will work with state and non-state actors and  serve the state with integrity, stating that he wants to leave in peace like his predecessor, urging all stakeholders to extend the cooperation that was given to CP Disu to him.

Earlier in his opening remarks, CP Disu stated that he would not have succeeded without the dedication of officers of the Rivers State Police Command as well as cooperation from members of the public and support from Rivers State Government.

CP Disu urged the Police Command under CP Mustapha to continue the synergy with the Rivers State Government and all stakeholders to maintain law and order.

In his good will message, Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere, General Overseer of Omega Power Ministry (OPM) prayed God to continue to elevate CP Disu.

Meanwhile Crime Correspondents in Rivers State led by the Chairman, Deacon Samuel Chinda presented a large portrait to CP Disu as a mark of honour.

A book titled: "The Shield" So far, Rivers In Progress which detailed achievements in crime fighting under CP Disu and published by the Rivers State Police Command was given to  guests at the event.

Our Correspondent reports that four retired Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIGs), Commissioners of Police, serving Senior Police Officers, Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Police Officers Wives Association, POWA; Traditional rulers, captain of industries, members of Civil Societies, Youth groups as well as the media were all in attendance.

 CP Disu who was moved to Abuja to serve as Commissioner of Police after spending eleven months in Rivers State will be greatly missed by lovers of peace in the State.

Bille People Appeal To Governor Fubara To Prevail On Alhaji Asari Dokubo To Stop Evasion Of Territory
