The Rivers State new commissioner of police, Mohammed Mustapha has assured residents of the state of adequate security.
CP Mustapha in his median briefing at the Command's headquarters in Port Harcourt noted that he has been briefed of the political situations in the State.
He disclosed that calmness will be restored in the Local Government Areas where pockets of violence and arson attacks have been reported,as he is committed to collaborate with state and non -state actors to address the challenges head-on.
The 46th Rivers State Commissioner of Police, also noted that adequate security personnel will be deployed to the local government areas to ensure security of lives and property.
The Commissioner stated that he is aware that Rivers State, being one of the nation's economic hubs, faces unique security challenges, require a proactive and strategic approach.
CP Mustapha added that his priority is to ensure the safety, security and well-being of all residents and visitors in Rivers State.
Our Correspondent reports that the outgone Commissioner of Police, Olatunji Disu officially handed over to the new Commissioner before leaving the Command today.
