Following the recent political tension, the "One Million Youths for Sim with Disabilities" in Rivers State across the 23 LGAs, gathered for a prayer conference today, seeking God's intervention for peace and progress for the Governor Siminalayi Fubara led administration.
Convener of the prayer conference, who is also the President, National Association of Youths with Disabilities, Rivers Chapter, Mr. Brown Benjamin Lesor, explained that the conference aimed to bring together youths with disabilities to pray for an end to the escalating political tension in Rivers State.
Mr. Lesor emphasized that the youths with disabilities are standing by their governor, Siminalayi Fubara during these challenging times and praying for his focus and victory.
He expressed gratitude to the Governor's wife, Valerie Siminalayi Fubara for her generosity and encouragement, pledging that the youths will pursue peace and shun violence
In her goodwill message at the event, Wife of Rivers State Governor, Valerie Siminalayi Fubara was thrilled by the enthusiasm and dedication the Youths with Disabilities displayed as they gathered to seek God's face in prayers for the State.
The State's First Lady who was represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation, Dr Justina Jumbo lauded the youths for the initiative and urged that they sustain the tempo beyond the prayer conference.
She demonstrated her support by donating the sum of two million naira to the organizers for their welfare, acknowledging the importance of their prayers for peace and progress of the State.
Dr. Jumbo aptly put it, "Prayer is the key,", noting that the event should serve as a shining example for others to emulate.
Earlier in his semon at the event, the Lead Pastor of Greenvine International Christian Center, Rumubekwe Port- Harcourt, Pastor Daniel Porbeni
urged the youths to focus on their inner strengths and abilities, rather than on their limitations.
According to him "Life is lived from the inside out, not outside in," as he admonished that they see themselves as are blessed, gifted, and loved by God.
Pastor Porbeni equally urged them to "keep pushing, and God trust God to send them destiny helpers."he added.
Th clergy man cited the example of Nigerian athletes with disabilities who won seven medals at the last Olympics, demonstrating their strength.
The prayer conference demonstrates the power of faith and unity in promoting positive change in Rivers State.
