Popular Kidnapper Killed In Gun Battle With Police

The Rivers State Police Command has neutralized a notorious cultist and kidnapper, Gbarani Bume, Popularly known as Pelele, a native of Bere Community in Khana Local Government Area of the State.


Police Public Relations Officer SP Grace Iringe-Koko in a statement, said the suspect was a member of the Iceland Cult Group, which has been terrorizing Beree/Tabaa axis of Khana Local Government Area.

According to the statement, on the 15th of November, 2024, operatives of the Command attached to Bori Division acting on a tip-off, were mobilized to Luawii Community where Pelele and his gang were attempting to kidnap a site Engineer.

The hoodlums on sighting the Operatives, opened fire on the operatives and a fierce crossfire ensued between the Police Operatives and the hoodlums during which Pelele was fatally wounded, his accomplices escaped with various degrees of bullet wounds.

Items recovered from the suspect include:

(1) One (1) AK-47 Rifle,

(2) Two (2) Magazines 

(3) Ten (10) Rounds of Live Ammunition.

SP Iringe-Koko added that investigations are ongoing, while concerted efforts are intensified to apprehend other fleeing gang members and bring them to justice.

Missing Person: Rivers State Police Command declares Miss Joy Woke Wiro

A  statement by the Spokesperson for the Rivers state Police command,SP Grace Iringe-Koko disclosed that she is 17 year old,a native of Ibaa in Emohua Local Government Area of the State,fair in complexion and about 5ft tall, speaks English and Ikwerre languages. Hoodlums Kidnap Students Of Rivers State University
