Women Group In Rivers State Seek More Political Appointments

Women group in Rivers State have urged Local Government Council Chairmen to balance their political appointments in the council by appointing more women.

 

This was the submission made during the visit of Obolo Women Converge to the wife of the Andoni Local Government Council, Mrs. Olubunmi Nteogwuile.

 

Speaking on behalf of the converge during the visit, Dr. ImaOwaji Ejitogute berated the appointment so far made by the Local Government Council Chairman as being one sided.


 

Dr. Ejitogute while appreciating the wife of the chairman, Mrs. Olubunmi Nteogwuile for her husband’s victory during the LGA elections in Rivers State said the converge carried out pad a girl project in various schools in Andoni and even Akwa Ibom State among other projects.



 

On her part, first lady of the Andoni Local Government Council, Mrs. Olubunmi Nteogwuile while appreciating the Obolo Women Converge for the visit, expressed willingness to ensure that the interest of Obolo women and children are protected.



 

Mrs. Nteogwuile stated that she has lined up series of projects to carry out for women and children, but her main focus will be in ensuring that children from three years old will be in school.

 

Correspondent Awajis Chijindu reports that the visit to the wife of the chairman revealed that Obolo women and children are in safe hands and hope that in no time Obolo people shall see evidential developmental strides in Andoni LGA.

Missing Person: Rivers State Police Command declares Miss Joy Woke Wiro

A  statement by the Spokesperson for the Rivers state Police command,SP Grace Iringe-Koko disclosed that she is 17 year old,a native of Ibaa in Emohua Local Government Area of the State,fair in complexion and about 5ft tall, speaks English and Ikwerre languages. SP Koko said the missing girl left home on Monday, September 8th,2025. All efforts made to trace her whereabout proved abortive.
